When you switch on a Vornado Air Circulator, air behind the circulator is drawn into the unit and is directed by an Inlet Guide Cone. This cone acts as an air accelerator, increasing the air velocity to the center of the blade and assists in projecting outgoing air further into the room. The Deep-Pitched Blades take big bites of air and accelerates that air through the circulator. The Duct around the blade keeps air from slipping off the blade tips and helps direct it forward. The AirTensity Grill acts as a flow-straightener and further assists in focusing the outward stream of air into a tight vortex airflow. This high velocity Vortex Beam of Air actually projects across the room pulling even more air into its beam. As the beam of air reaches the other side of the room, it is drawn back around the perimeter of the room and ultimately back to the circulator to be recharged again through this continuous cycle. This process creates Whole Room Circulation; all the air in the room is excited into a steady state motion that creates air movement in every part of the room, continuously and quietly.
